Thailand
Dr Artorn Chandavimol, an active member and President of Thai Kindness Foundation who keeps in close contact with the World Kindness Movement, is helping the victims of the Tragedy by acting as a coordinator for providing relief and transportation in the rebuilding of the affected area.
Some projects have also resulted from this initiative. One seeks to give jobs to the victims by equipping victims with woodworking tools, training them and paying them a small fee during training so that they can physically rebuild the affected areas. Another project sells paintings done by Thai children in which the money from the sale goes to a special Tsunami fund. A centre in the Kuraburi district, Phanga Province has also been dedicated to the repair of fishing boats and other fishing apparatus. The Thai Kindness Foundation has also donated fishing nets to fishermen whose livelihood have been affected by the Tsunami, like those in India.
The Thai Kindness Foundation recommends that the best thing that a WKM member should do is to check names of the victims in their countries via http://203.151.217.23/phuket/listbycountry.php and phone or visit the victims or their relatives to give them kindness.
1. The Thai kindness Movement will give 10,000 Kindness pins to all volunteers that help the victims in the Tsunami tragedy.
2. Please inform everyone we know that the earthquake in Indonesia is still active , the last one happen today and may spark Tsunami anytime. Please play safe by staying away at least 2 kilometer from sea beaches around the world during this period. Please watch animals in holes such as snakes,
crab, or earthworm, if they come out from their hole in big quaitity, watch for earthquake and tsunami within 2 days. Growing salt watered trees at beachfronts are better than concrete wall.
3. Thailand has many relief supplies in surplus such as Instant noodles, canned fish, bottle water and used cloth. If any one needs and can find transportion to India, Sri Lanka or Indonesia , we may shared the relief materials. Yesterday, the Navy set up a free supermarket of relief supplies where the victim can take any thing they want that can put in a big plastic bag.
4. Anyone who want to donate, please look at poor small fishermen who lost their boats and fishing equipments. Another place to look is the local hospital, since I found that the medicine for the drown victims are very expensive and cannot bepurchased at local drug stores.
5. Please visit or phone to families of the lost in your country and give them Kindness.

The Singapore Kindness Movement has sent out letters to thank its members and encourage them to continue to be generous in their donations to the Tsunami victims and in the rebuilding phase.
SKM has also collaborated with the Singapore Scouts Association to organise the “Daily Act of Kindness” initiative which encourages the Scouts to save a small amount daily and eventually contribute the accumulated savings to a special Children’s Education Fund. This fund is dedicated to getting the children in the affected areas back to school as this has been identified as one of the areas of key importance in the recovery effort.
SKM will continue to identify projects and seek partnership with other organisations and partners in the rebuilding phase.
