Welcome Address by Mr Noel Hon, Chairman of Singapore Kindness Movement and World Kindness Movement Secretariat at the Opening of the Fourth World Kindness Movement Conference in Parma, Italy
on Wednesday, 4 May 2005
Good morning, Mr Elvio Ubaldi, Mayor of Parma,
Mr Giorgio Aiassa, Chairman, Italian Kindness Movement
Members and delegates representing the World Kindness Movement,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
- It is indeed my pleasure to welcome you to the Fourth Conference of the World Kindness Movement. First and foremost, I would like to thank the Italian Kindness Movement for having so graciously offered to host this Conference. I am certain that in the days to come, we will experience more of the Italian hospitality for which this country is famed.
- The last time the World Kindness Movement met was in the year 2000 in Singapore. Many activities, events and programmes have since been carried out by members of the World Kindness Movement in their own countries. This conference presents a unique opportunity for members to come together to brainstorm ideas and share experiences with one another. We should turn it into a platform with which to bring the Movement forward.
- Finally, I wish to thank our Italian counterparts for organising this 4th World Conference. The time, effort and patience put into organising such events are tremendous. Therefore I would like to put on record my deepest appreciation for the professionalism, the attention to details, and most of all, the hospitality, displayed by the organisers. I am confident that the outcome of the Conference will make it all worthwhile.
Thank you. |
